Bred by Jaeva Kennels and imported by Barbara Miller of Max-Well Kennels, Matti was born in 1983. She had one litermate and one full sibling, neither of which completed their title, but Matti himself made a significant impact on the breed in the US. Of the 12 half siblings on his sire's side and 5 half siblings on his dam's side, none achieved their championship.
