Riddle was bred in 1936 by W.E. West of England and owned by Mrs. Alice T. McLean. She was recorded as a red bitch with an inbreeding coefficient of only 1.5%. She had 3 littermates and 1full sibling but none of her littermates completed their championship titles, nor did her full sibling. Of the 59 half siblings on her sire's side none achieved their titles. There were no half siblings on her dam's side and Riddle was bred only once, producing a singleton puppy that did not complete her title. Interestingly we do not know which of her ancestors contributed her drop ear carriage.
