A direct descendent of Tobit, Tuff was a red dog born in May of 1943.with two littermates and a full sibling, none of which were champions. There were no half siblings on his sire's or dam's side. He produced 20 litters and his progeny total 50. He produced unusually large litters of 4 to 6 puppies, among them 6 champions. He was bred 3 times each to Kedron Dorcas and Muff with one champion to Muff's credit and 3 champions from the 10 puppies born to Kedron Dorcas.Tuff was bred and owned by Miss Sylvia Warren. Tuff appears in a great many of the pedigrees of those who in later years were to attain distinction on the show bench. On his sire’s side he descends from Ch Tobit and Neachley Toffee and on his dam’s side to Tiny Tim of Biffin, Witherslack Sport and Merry of Beaufin. He was full of intelligence, as well as good looks, carried the black and tan gene and what is more important, passed these characteristics on to his descendants.
