Page with an inbreeding coefficient of 18.5%, Alder was said to be the epitome of a true working show dog.The prepotent Alder and his sire, Elel Spruce have influenced all of today's winners chiefly through Gotoground, Nanfan, and Bethway descendants. He had 95 half siblings on his sire's side with 3 champions carrying the Waveney Valley prefix. There were no maternal half siblings. Alder himself was bred 73 times, 5 times to Elel Spice. He was bred twice to Eng. Ch. Waveney Valley Gypsy and once to Ragus Merry Maid. He produced two champion get including Eng. Ch. Hunston Hedge Betty. Alder was an outstanding show dog. He held his own against prick-ear competition and paved the way for separation. He won CC's as both a Norwich and a Norfolk. Alder passed on his good points, such as his good bone, excellent harsh red coat and good head and ear carriage. His most famous daughter is Ch.
