Bred in 1953 with an inbreeding coefficient of 18.5% Aldersista was the only champion in her litter of 3. One of her 10 full siblings earned his title (Eng. Ch. Waveney Valley Alder). There were 3 champions among her 95 half siblings on her sire's side and there were no half siblings on her dam's side. Aldersista was bred three times to three different Gotoground stud dogs producing a total of 7 get, none of which earned their title. It was this breeder's conviction that his Norwich were successful as they were "country bred and sportingly matured". By day all of his terriers roamed the fields and woodlands of Ashmans Hall in order to "lead perfectly natural lives so essential to all breeding stock." These were proven field terriers who in the ring were noted for their harsh coats, gay temperaments, and the "physical conforrmation necessary for a good worker with the refinement necessary to a show winner.".
